They can also create their own groups of book suggestions, surveys, polls, blogs, and discussions. Since Google is still directing people here when one types in “GoodReads vs. LibraryThing” (which I just did), I’m guessing that people are still reading this post. I will connect with you on there and see what kind of ‘library thing’ you like to read. The transition was a bit halting, but I have now more or less stopped updating my Goodreads account (though I still contribute to my library's account for readers' advisory purposes) and shifted all my activity over to LibraryThing. Regardless, I found it to be a wonderful little place to keep my books organized.

For lack of a better title I christened it: Lackberg and Leon: A Scandicrime vs Venetian Mystery Challenge. I've tried all 3, but I'm more comfortable here on Goodreads because the set-up fits how I like to do things when it comes to my books.
Report Inappropriate Content ... Hmmm, I've read quite a few great books this year. Librarything is awful and the only reason I stick around is because of sunk costs. While many focus their efforts on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, these venues are broad—only a small percentage of users are regular readers.

LibraryThing is more book- and collection-oriented. Speaking as a working author, Goodreads is a dumpster fire. Au contraire, it is not!It may be the most well-known, but there are alternatives. Users can sign up and register books to generate library catalogs and reading lists.

ALSO- LibraryThing lets you select the source you use when searching. March 24, ... I’m on Goodreads and used to catalogue my reads faithfully but I just find it time consuming and I don’t always want to write a review. The social book cataloging app LibraryThing released its long-awaited Android app this week (it's been in the works since before the iPhone app was released in 2015).

For years I thought it would somehow get better ; it's actually worse than when I registered because the staff's commitment never to flush nonsense entries (while letting liberal goons delete actual quality content on a whim) has turned it into a Collyer Mansion of garbage data. vs. Well, what a complete waste of time that was! I especially like the reading status update feature here, though I'm not sure if LibraryThing has that now; it didn't have one back in the early days. I thought about doing something with North vs. South or Hot and Cold Climes Crime, but somehow it just didn't mesh.

I have been a member of Shelfari for awhile now.
